KINGSGROVE Cricket Club players Matthew Iemma and Sam Konstas have taken out major Cricket NSW awards this season for batting and individual player performances.
Matthew plays in the Georges River St George District Cricket Association Moore Shield under-14 representative team.
Sam plays in the Foster Shield under-10 representative side.
Both boys won the batting award for their respective competitions and were named best player in their particular competitions.
Cricket NSW gave out the awards at their presentation night.
The Georges River District Junior Cricket Association Moore Shield team were also presented with team awards and medals for winning two titles this season.
The Moore Shield team were undefeated in the Metropolitan Championship and the NSW Premiership.
Matthew Iemma, 14, was Cricket NSW's under-14 batter of the year, scoring 390 runs and averaging 78, with one century, four fifties and a highest score of 100 not out. He also took eight wickets, averaged 18, took three catches and effected two run-outs.
Sam, 9, scored 298 runs, averaging 74.50, with one century, two 50s, and a highest score of 116. Sam also took five wickets at 17.60, two catches and effected two run-outs.
Matthew plays in Kingsgrove's 14A team and Sam is in Kingsgrove's 10A team.
St George Cricket Club president Kevin Greene said it was good to see the young talent emerging at club and junior representative level.
"I congratulate Matthew and Sam on their awards and also the Moore Shield team for two titles this season," Greene said.
